[Following is a volunteer review of "Bitcoin Answered" by Jon Law.]
Are you there scratching your head baffled by the hype around cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, and want to know exactly what it is? Then Jon Law's Bitcoin Answered is precisely the book for you.
In this book author has provided all the knowledge about Bitcoin, grading from basic to advanced. It has historical, technical and investment oriented information about bitcoin. We get to know the meaning of mostly heard terms like bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, nodes, public ledger, mining plus the new terms like bitcoin forks, bitcoin whales, bitcoin cash and hash. It explains in detail about the security related queries. Can bitcoin be hacked? Will it run out in future? Will bitcoin crash? And other similar questions. Various bitcoin slangs are also addressed. The author has compared bitcoin to other currencies in terms of the various traits of money. It guides you on how to read a bitcoin chart, different types of it and charting resources has also been provided by the author. The book has a portion called 'crypto essential dictionary' which is a quick reference to understand terminologies related to cryptocurrency.
This is the first time I have read a book about bitcoin. I can totally say that I caught the concept very well. I think the best part about this book is that it is to the point. The whole content is in the form of questions that can mostly occur to us and is answered in a straightforward manner without any unnecessary dragging. This format makes it easy to read and retain more. It's a short book that covers pretty much everything about bitcoin, so you can call it a time saver as well. The author has added diagrams, mind maps, charts, and graphs to help us understand easily.
I like that the author was completely honest and unbiased. He very clearly put the greatness as well as the higher risks involved with bitcoin. The length, format, and getting answered almost everything that I was confused about made me a fan of this book. I was thrilled to acquire the more profound knowledge that probably isn't even necessary to invest in bitcoin but is an essential part of its functioning. I loved that the author has put all his genuine efforts to involve the readers practically by attaching the link of ledgers and charts. In the end, the author has provided other sources that can help us gather more knowledge on the topic including books, podcasts, YouTube channels, charting services etc.
Overall, there is absolutely nothing I disliked about the book.
There is no instance of profanity or sexual content in the whole book. The book is well edited, and I found no error in it. For all the above explained reasons, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to clear their concept about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Someone who is totally new to bitcoin or cryptocurrency can also start with this book.
