Review of Man Mission

[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
Have you ever thought about doing something crazy and fun? It starts out as a mere suggestion that is laughable, then slowly turns into a plan. Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is a story of an adventure undertaken by four friends over the course of fifteen years.
The narrator, who is unnamed, met Sam in law school. He had an initial opinion about Sam's personality when they first met, but was proven wrong immediately. They quickly became friends along with two of his other friends, Daniel and Alec. Sam and the narrator talked and laughed about going on an annual vacation, each year to a different location, and participating in outdoor activities like kayaking or hiking. The narrator is doing a tedious and boring job at a law firm three years later when he gets a call from Sam. Sam reminds him of their plan, and now they can put it into action. The narrator doesn't think it's possible at first, but it kicks into action, and so the first man mission begins with Sam and the narrator going on a trip to New Zealand. Sam and the narrator are also the only participants in the second man mission. They are joined by Daniel on the third man mission, and eventually by Alec. You absolutely cannot have read this book and say you weren't excited. I was intrigued and impressed by the story. The adventures of the four men take the reader on a journey to different parts of the world. The man missions took place in places like Japan, Peru, Spain, South Korea, South Africa, and several other exciting places. They also did several fun activities and had lifetime experiences. I would have loved to list these wonderful experiences, but you wouldn't want me to give spoilers until you've read the book. Because the missions took place in different countries, the reader is exposed to several cultural practices. I for one have never travelled outside my country, but I learned a thing or two about the norms and traditions of other countries in the world from this book. The outdoor activities were also enlightening and fascinating. Before I read this book, I'd never heard of kayaking, but now I know a few things about it.
There was absolutely nothing I disliked about this book. I love the fact that the story allows the reader to view things from the perspective of men. The reader can take a look at how they deal with major things in life like career advancement or career change, marriage and building up a family, etc. The story uses the four men to portray these things. They start out in school and unmarried, and along the way some of them start getting married, having children, and making career moves. The book was structured properly. It was divided into three parts that consists of five man missions each. These parts represent different stages in the lives of the men. There are lots of things to be learned in this book. It also contains several thought-provoking themes.
The book was professionally and exceptionally well-edited. I didn't come across any errors while reading it. The character development was superb, and the scenes were well-developed. I'm therefore rating this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to lovers of travel and adventurous stories.
