[Following is a volunteer review of "Mythic Worlds and the One You Can Believe In" by Harold Toliver.]
Mythic Worlds and the one you can believe in by Harold Toliver is about myths and the author's thoughts and arguments about the myths. It talks about how people state myths and religions to justify their actions and doings. This is a heavy read and time to complete it. This book is the philosophy of myths and how they influence people and the decisions and things that surround us. The author says even religions is surrounded by myths.
I liked the presentation of the book. The author did a great work of writing. The content section made it easier to read the book. I loved the valid justifications given by the author. Like the example of Hitler, his actions were mostly based on myths and his religion. His actions made the Jews suffer just because of his beliefs. The author talk about it fully and clearly which I loved. The book is mostly based on religions that might offend some people.
The author says that religion is a cause of conflicts no matter what era. He states that terrorism is a result of these superstitions. He connected these conflicts to the myths and validate his justifications. I loved the way he connected it all and provided perfect justifications.
It took me some time to complete this book and its ideas. It was out of the box but truly worth it. It was a heavy book with all its contents but gave me whole satisfaction and didn't disappoint me. Since the author's thoughts and justifications about religion didn't bother me, I was completely taken aback by his theory but it was nice to know a different point of view. Thus, I have nothing that I dislike.
It was a hard and harsh book but I love it from the start to the end. It is harsh as it says some truth about history kind of blaming but maybe the author didn't mean to be harsh. I love the book.
I will give this book a 4 out of 4 stars. Because I love this book too much to hate it. This book is unique to me. I didn't find any rare errors. And it seemed that the book was written. It seemed professionally edited. This book is for young adults who are interested in philosophy will love this book. And also people who want to see new things related to myths. Those who are open to this kind of thing are welcome to give this book a try.
