Highschool can be hard when you are the new girl, especially for a girl with a secret like Cecilia. Unlike a normal heroine Cecilla’s Road went straight through Hell, as the daughter of Satan she has had a very different experience and point of view as her new classmates. Or so she thought, as the students and their families have a centuries long secret that can thrust them right into the middle of a showdown between Cecilia and her Father.

The writing was excellent, from the first page I was interested into what would happen with Cecilia. Mary A.J. wrote the story in a way that was easily read and understood by everyone. Her ability to weave the historical setting and information seamlessly so that it is truly integrated into the story. Especially the integration of the book Anthony & Cleopatra through the story of Cecilia and Sebastian.

I have found a hard time finding any fault with the book as it was engaging and drew me into the story. If there is any area where I had a few moments of timing as the progression of time was not always apparent.

For Vagabond I give it an unreserved rating of 4 out of 4. It is a well written and fresh perspective in the supernatural realm. I had a hard time putting the book down as I felt engaged and part of the story. I was impressed by the way I connected with the characters and want to see how their story continues in future novels.

This is a great book for YA audiences who are in need of a fresh perspective in the supernatural realm of angles and demons, along with seeing a strong heroine. Unlike some novels where the heroine is placed upon a pedestal, Cecilia has been given a story with an internal struggle between what she has always done and engaging in true friendship. Mary A.J. has created a cast that is easily relatable to any reader.
