The book Ironing by Navajo is a book based on different characters but mainly on the different ways that people live. Navajo used different characters to illustrate different lifestyles and human behaviors in London.

The book has a few positive aspects. First its originality is quite admirable. The book is purely a product of the imagination of he author. He understands certain human behavior and relationships as seen in the way that he created some of his characters. I love particularly the language pattern. The author included British accent in the book, a good example would be the constant use of the word "innit'' throughout the book.

Another positive thing about the way the author writes is how he uses words. The author clearly knows how to make use of words to describe actions and events so that the reader can picture it well. A good example would be : "They all manage to stand, peering at each other through the disgusting smell, the nauseating dark blanket of senseless destruction. The burnt rubber, ammonia filled air clings to their nostrils." Well created descriptions like this gives the reader a mental picture and something for the imagination as they read.

The book also had a scarce humorous tone. The witty inclusion of humor in the book made it a more interesting and entertaining read for me.

There are also a few things that I didn't like about the book. First, at the beginning of the book, it was difficult to see the point that the author was trying to make and follow the storyline. The author ran too many unconnected stories that made the plot unstructured and cloggy. The author went off point a couple of times from the storyline and there were too many unnecessary characters in the book. There was little or no background information for most of the characters in the book. It made it difficult to follow the storyline and interact well with the different characters and their personalities.

On the good side, the book was exceptionally edited. The editors did a good job editing the book. I found no error in the entire book. I would rate the book two out of four stars .

I think the book was not well planned and structured but I believe some other person may find the book interesting. If not, the content of the book is brief and can be a good way to spend your free time. It also contains a large volume of vulgar languages and shouldn't be read by children.
