Review of Cynthia and Dan

[Following is a volunteer review of "Cynthia and Dan" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Dan can testify that three years ago, a strong woman like Cynthia agreed to date him. He could boast that Cynthia, the right-hand woman of Senator McBride, was his girlfriend. However, things had begun to slowly fall apart between these two, and Cynthia had started to act strangely towards him. Maybe it was because she had indulged in an unholy act with another man. Maybe she was just genuinely tired and felt like things weren’t working out anymore. Dan’s relationship with Cynthia was on the edge of the mountain. With one push, it will fall to the hard ground and shatter to pieces. But the decision to keep going or not rests solely in Cynthia’s hands.
As Cynthia entertains this drama in her personal life, she, being the co-founder of a private investigation company, must also face her duties as such. Notified that her team discovered an elaborate plan to kill or mortally injure the president of the USA, they must fight with all they have to foil that plan. Whether or not they will be able to do so is also solely in their hands.
Dorothy May Mercer is hands down my favourite author. If fans were given trophies for loving this author, I am sure that my trophy case would have been full by now. Okay, I have said enough about how much I love Dorothy May Mercer and her books. I feel like it’s time to place my mind and focus on Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War. It focuses on two main themes. These themes are cyberwar and love, for sure. I believe that both themes are in the title.
As a nerd, you will not be surprised to learn that the idea of an actual war taking place in cyberspace burned my pants and excited me to no end. The thought of the good guys hacking their way into the bad guys’ camp and trying to march away with their stuff made me lose my mind in the same excitement. I love a good fight, but I love the science behind it more. And as a nerd who lives for the stereotype, these tech-themed scenes are my favourite in the novel. You can say that it is what I liked the best about it.
I would like to state clearly that I did not despise a thing in Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War. It is not because I’m such a fanatic and lover of Dorothy May Mercer’s books. If her book was bad, I would say so and mean it. But I did not see anything wrong with this at all. Every part excited me and made me feel like I was part of something important.
The second to the last thing that I would like to table in this review is the rating. 4 out of 4 stars is what I feel Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War should get. This is me being honest. By now, I am sure that you can understand why I am convinced that it deserves this rating. Also, I thank Dorothy May Mercer for editing it excellently.
Finally, I recommend Cynthia and Dan: Cyber War to nerds like me who love the idea of a real war fought with keyboards and big monitors. For those who are interested in the romance aspect of a story, the love triangle between Cynthia and the two men she must choose from will pique your interest.
