Review of Adrift
Indulge me for a second here. Imagine that you are on a ship and you stepped out of your cabin for a quick walk and you came face-to-face with an angry flame that had already destroyed a good part of the ship that you are on. What will you do? Right now, you have time to get your thoughts together and decide on the best thing to do. But William and his friends did not have that luxury. There was no time to wait for a rescue theme to come with helicopters to take everyone off the ship. There was no time to gather personal belongings. Delaying meant instant death by fire. So, they ride away from their ship on lifeboats. The waves beat and hit his boat until he and everyone on it washed ashore on an island where he believes he was born. They must work together to navigate their way back to their respective homes. The weather and conditions that they were in tested their team-working abilities and threatened to end them right there. Whether or not they will be able to get back home is heavily dependent on their ability to work together and their resolve to survive no matter the cost.
Adrift is the book that tells us all about this story that many people hope they never have to experience. I liked the book so much that I rated it four out of four stars. This rating does not come undeserved, of course. For a book to get such a rating, it must be perfect, and I found this book, written by Charlie Sheldon, to be perfect in every way.
The first example of perfection that comes to mind right now is the whole book that had no errors. It was perfectly edited. I said this because errors were impossible to see or find in the book.
The second perfect thing that I noticed and liked in the book is the rate at which the plot or story develops. I felt like nothing was rushed. The author did not hastily build the plot up to a point of climax and he did not hastily resolve disputes. There was no smooth sailing where the book was concerned. The good times were as concentrated and true as the bad times. It is this particular positive point that I liked the most in the novel.
The third example of perfection that I saw was in the description. Before reading this book, I read several reviews (like the one that you are reading right now) that said that everything that happened was very vivid solely because of how Charlie Sheldon used his words to describe them. I want to say that they did not tell a lie.
That is the much that I have decided to write about this book. But I want to remind you that I gave the book a perfect rating because I did not dislike anything about it. Lastly, this book is best suited to readers who appreciate true adventure novels that show just how far humans will go to avoid dying a sorry death.
