Review of Fast Starting a Career of Consequence: Workbook
[Following is a volunteer review of "Fast Starting a Career of Consequence: Workbook" by Fred Sievert.]
This book was written out of the personal experience of the author about his daughter and her vocation as an entry-level marketing employee in a cosmetic company. The author Fred Sievert hopes that readers of this book will attain success in their careers and businesses, just like his daughter, after implementing the tips and techniques listed in this book. Fast starting a career of consequence centers on ways to help in the advancement and progression of your career or business while maintaining your Christian faith and also affecting the lives of others around you. This book encourages you to have an inward appraisal of your life and spirituality. It teaches you ways to discern your spiritual gifts and how to use them for the betterment of your career. It gives you tips on how to have a better disposition at work in other to stand out among your colleagues. After reading this book Fast starting a career of consequence, you will improve not only your career but also your relationship with others and God.
That this book focused not only on young graduates but also on older adults who had to suspend their careers because of personal or family issues is what I love most about this book. The tips in this book will give them hope and a step-by-step guidance on how to restart their careers. I like that it touches all aspects of the workforce; those who lost their jobs, those who took a break from their jobs, those currently working, and even those discharged from the military. It is a book that gives hope, strength, and motivation to everyone. Also, the prayers at the end of each chapter and the Bible verses at the beginning of each chapter will be appreciated by Christian readers. I like the action steps in this workbook; it gives you the push to analyze your relationship with God and sets you on a journey of self-discovery. It also helps you digest the point made by the author when you answer them for yourself. I love that the author ‘Fred Sievert’ uses his own life experiences to give a better understanding of his teachings.
In as much as a Christian reader will appreciate the tips and advice in this book, atheists and non-Christians will have a hard time relating to it. The author also considered this as he mentioned having a limited audience. Nevertheless, it was an engaging and uplifting book.
There is nothing not to love about this book. It gives hope, encourages, uplifts, and guides the reader towards achieving a fulfilling career. It helps you achieve a deep level of self-awareness. I award this book a rating of 4 out of 4stars.
Anyone who feels depressed and underachieving will benefit from the tips in this book. People who feel stagnant and need that one push to kick start their lives and careers will appreciate this book. I applaud Fred on this masterpiece.
