What are vesicles? How do lysosomes function? Where do proteins come from? Cell Biology For Babies by Dr. Haitham Ahmed is a marvelous children's book that would teach kids the basics of cell biology and provide them with answers to these and other questions it covers. Beautifully illustrated, this book helps little scientists gain an initial necessary knowledge about a cell of the human body, understand a cell's role in its working, and learn the parts of its structure.

The illustrations are my most favorite aspect of the book. Thanks to the author's exceptional point of view on the presentation of educational material, they would help develop children's memory, abstract thinking, and color perception. There are questions regarding every illustration with a required part of the cell in different colors. In my opinion, it's a great way to help kids figure out and memorize the anatomy of the cell. I would add that the book has a big potential to introduce a wonderful world of science to little readers.

My minor dislike is that the text is a bit dry to keep babies' attention for a long time. On the other hand, the illustrations are striking enough to evoke their interest in the book. Also, terms like "endoplasmic reticulum" or "Golgi bodies" could be too complex for kids under four years of age, in my opinion.

I didn't find any errors or typos and assumed that the book was exceptionally well edited. I am happy to give this book 4 out of 4 stars. I couldn't take away a star because the book might be a great source of information even for older children to quickly refresh the principles of the cell's structure.

I recommend this book to children from one to ten years of age. Teachers would appreciate it as an additional nontrivial source of information. School libraries would benefit from having this book at their disposal.

Well, that's interesting. I'm just not sure that babies need to be learning biology. Maybe we should focus on reading first? Basic numbers? In any case, this isn't for me. Thanks.

"Catch them young", they say. A good book for child being introduced to biological science early in life. Thanks for the honest review. Kudos

I like that the book is full of very good illustrations. I think that good illustrations will definitely keep the baby's attention for at least a while.
