[Following is a volunteer review of "Why Can't Johnny Just Quit?" by Kyle Oh.]
Certain questions perturb patients and the hospital staff alike. Among these are: does everyone get addicted? Why are some substances addictive (are some substances not addictive)? These, and other questions keep running in through the minds of every rational being as far as addiction is concerned. Why Can’t Johnny Just Quit? is a thorough assessment and argumentation about what and how addiction operates. It introduces the narrative by submitting an informative definition of what addiction is! Analyzing some myths, this book seeks to understand every feeling that an individual under the influence of any drug experiences. It delves deeper to discuss why some victims using a drug get addicted, yet others using the same drug do not get addicted. Read through the pages of this book to get a better, even higher, understanding of what addiction truly is!
This book is an epic piece of literature in the department of pain management and addiction. Written by a health care professional, it has an updated information volume regarding the subject matter. The precise introduction is an intriguing lead. The three reasons the author stated at the introduction of the book was compelling to me. They delineate the purpose of writing and reading the book.
The various tidbits of information that influenced me personally include the statistical data integrated into this book to better enhance the concerns and points of the author. Another is the list of “key points to teach to everyone about addiction,” which incorporates an enlightened understanding of what addiction truly is. The anonymous quote included in this book crown up the positive aspects for me.
The negative aspects that surfaced in this piece of literature include the incidences of drug and substance abuse. This is featured in this literature both as a cause of addiction and a bad habit that should be avoided before it progresses to actual addiction. Besides that, the few cases of death that resulted as a result of poor health care, or patient laxity were negative too.
This book by Kyle Oh, M.D., is just amazing. The way addiction as a topic of narration was discussed is surely enlightening! The not-so-obvious definition of addiction as a disease or illness is a medical
breakthrough according to my assessments. Thorough editing done perfectly well ensures a smooth and steady flow throughout the book. Owing to the regards mentioned above, I award this book 4 out of 4 stars. The wonderful composition, standardized structure, and professional editing all deem the book deserving of the maximum stars.
This book will appeal to most victims of addiction of all classes and sundry. I suggest medical personnel specializing in pain management and addiction patients read copies of this book. An individual who desires a better understanding of addiction and substance abuse will find this book appealing too.
