I am glad that I wasn't the only one who saw this girl rudeness. It was too much. It turned me off. I got a second hand embarassment. How she was shouting at the elders, and them just standing there and not doing anything like reprimanding turned me off.

I'm not sure I agree with an 11 year old being a bit vulgar. Asides that, I think this book piqued my interest

I can confirm to the fact that Kaylayla is a fantastic novel because I read it myself. I was blown away. The narrative is captivating. It was an excellent use of my time because the characters are really relatable.

Oh, I loved Kaylayla for sure. Such a brilliant piece of literature. But this one, not so much. I was not able to relate to the story, as I felt bored while reading it.

Thanks for an interesting review. The character Lena was a remarkable woman in this book worthy of imitation. Her life and the decisions she made is a lessons for women today.

Kalayla still remains my favorite book. I love how the author gave them a unique voice

I love the fact that the author incorporated a lot of themes in this book. She aimed to educate society and eliminate some things like racism.
