Review of Island Games

[Following is a volunteer review of "Island Games" by Caleb J. Boyer.]
Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants is the first book in the adventure series called Island Games, written by Caleb J. Boyer, when he was just twelve years old. He rose to popularity and became an International Bestselling and an Award-winning author with this debut novel.
The book describes the adventures and struggles of two best friends, Matthew and Ryan, who find themselves stranded on a mysterious island with no memories of their past life. They try to face each challenge presented on the island with teamwork and unity, as the only thing they remember is that they are best friends. With every challenge they face, they look out for each other and thus, their friendship strengthens. At every opportunity, they try to discuss and speculate the reasons behind their arrival on the island. Ryan and Matthew at times have weird hallucinations that they sometimes discuss and at times dismiss.
The character of Matthew was my favorite as it was easy to choose between two characters in the whole story. He was one with the Warrior-like personality. Even though the story was imaginary and had many unnatural things in it, the metaphoric situations and the inner thoughts of the characters made the story very much relatable. I was thrilled and excited from the start till the end of the book, as each challenge they faced made me anxious, and I wanted them to achieve success in every one of them. The most interesting thing was, I read about the author in the beginning and I felt so proud about being able to read such an amazing story written by a boy at such a young age. I loved the fact that, there was no unusualness in the plot of the story, let alone any grammatical or typographical errors, so I felt the book was exceptionally well-edited. In fact, every incident just connected with the other like a puzzle piece and never did any sudden incident obstruct the flow of the story.
There was nothing that I found uninteresting about this book. I felt the book as extremely gripping and wonderful. More importantly, the author’s note in the end that described various unanswered questions in the book felt satisfying.
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars for its incredible and entertaining plot and exceptional editing. With no profanity at all, I recommend this book for everyone; children and adult alike, although the story might feel a bit like for children, but it has great depth and moral hidden for every one of us struggling with our daily life challenges.
