Review of The Girl Who Knew Da Vinci

[Following is a volunteer review of "The Girl Who Knew Da Vinci" by Belle Ami.]
The Girl Who Knew DaVinci is a book that is part of a series called Out of Time Thrillers, written by Belle Ami. The story follows the main character, Angela, struggling to build a solid foundation in her new career path. She finally secured an internship in the art world she had desired for so long. The only thing is, her boss is pure evil. Scordato is your typical evil bad guy. Arrogant, snake-like, and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Max hired Scordato to find a lost DaVinci painting that may or may not exist. Max also employed the help of Alex Caine to help find the missing painting and investigate Scordato as rumors circulated that he was doing shady things as the director. Angela has been having visions of the past that she doesn’t understand. Alex and Angela team up and go through many challenges to find proof that this artwork exists. Scordato will stop at nothing to claim the lost DaVinci for himself. He waits for his chance in the shadows.
The scene when Alex and Angela first met was exciting. There was so much passion and love between the characters that it was unexpected. I enjoyed their relationship throughout the story. All of the steamy love scenes included. I also enjoyed the different periods of time in the book. The Renaissance and World War II were defining moments in our history. I have wanted to vacation in some places, including Rome and Italy, to see all of the artwork and historic buildings. The vineyard that Alex now owns sounds fantastic and I would love to go to a place like that someday.
The only thing that I did not enjoy about the book was that it was predictable. Some scenes did catch me off guard, but for the most part, I was able to guess what was going to happen next. For example, I was able to predict how Scordato would act in each situation. I still thoroughly enjoyed the book and the characters.
I would not say this book is religious. The characters do discuss different religions, and people do pray. But, the story is mostly about trying to find a lost DaVinci painting. There are also intense sexual scenes throughout the story. I would recommend this book to mature audiences. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I would have given it four but, there were more than ten errors in the book. If you like action-packed thrillers with a little bit of mystery, then check this book out!
