Review of Manifesto for a Cancer Patient
Manifesto for a Cancer Patient written by Colleen Huber starts by narrating that when a person is diagnosed with cancer he has a right to choose the type of medical treatment he should receive from physicians. An oncologist has the right to advise the patient on the best medical option he should take. He explains to us the reason he chose to be naturopathic physician. He explains that he wanted to help his family on the issues pertaining to cancer and that doctors in the field of cancer made a lot of money. The author supports use of natural treatment to treat cancer than to chemotherapy. Chemotherapy, discovered in the second world war had some or no effective use on cancer patients. The cancer cells mutated again after that person had cured and they become more resistable to chemotherapy drug. Defeating cancer requires more than one treatment method since cancer exists in different forms. The major cause of cancer is excess uptake of sugar. Sugar which contains lactic acid activates cancer cells. Higher intake of sugar can cause heart disease, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He advises cancer patient to use protein so as it displaces carbohydrates in the diet. He should eat well. Exercise well. Take food rich in vitamins. Look for herbs which help in fighting cancer.
The positive aspect of this book is that the author explains about the benefits of using natural way to treat cancer. He also gives people hope that cancer is curable. He has come up with different reports from different experiments performed in the field of cancer that are beneficial. He has given also a stern warning against use of chemotherapy after you have being diagnosed with cancer. In his wisdom, doctor's and different cancer practioners use the naiveness of the patient so that they may steal money from them.
The negative aspect of this book is that he has used some complex term's which are hard to be comprehended by ordinary people.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars . It was professionally edited. Simple use of English. Supported his argument using various experiments and different case study from cancer patients. The book was enjoyable, excellent and amazing.
The recommended audience for this book are cancer patients. They should read this book well so as they may have a clue of the type of medication to receive. This book should also be read by cancer practioners so as they may deliver better services to their clients without intimidation. It should be read by anyone who is interested in pursuing medical career in future.
