Randy the Irresistible by S M Goodier is a story that speaks about the hardships young adults (especially the ones that are no longer under the care of their parents) face daily. The eternal struggle to make enough income, youthful exuberance, friendship, and romance. Randy Love who is the protagonist of this novel is the third and last child of John and Marjorie Love. After the birth of their first two children; Harriet and James, the couple, well into their middle age, decided to retire but suddenly given the responsibility of raising another child came as a surprise to this couple. Randy is selfish, manipulative, intelligent, emotionally immature, a little dense, and unbelievably handsome. His good looks made him quite popular among the ladies, and more often than not, the attraction tends to be mutual. However, there are times this handsome young man in his twenties has to run for the hills. The protagonist drops out of school and tries to tread the waters of working jobs on his own and due to his intelligence, his employers hate to see him go after seeing that he was a good employee.

The book is unique and filled with humor, I liked the fact that the main character was created in such a way that he wasn't just full of flaws. I loved the way every single character was portrayed and I also liked the author's use of words. The author had a realistic point of view and created the character; Randy Love as that one person that gets us annoyed on regular occasions but we love them just the way they are. The mode of narration was wonderful. I am glad that the author provided an 'Index of British Terminology and Slang' at the end of this novel and I found it to be very helpful because I am not familiar with British and this arrangement saved me the stress of using the internet while reading this book.

I didn't notice any error and it was given a proper ending. The book just needs a little editing.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I didn't find anything I disliked about Randy the Irresistible. It was relaxing to read and humorous. The author did a good job.

I recommend this book to fiction lovers and young adults as well. It is not suitable for people that are not comfortable with profanity. Also, this book contains a little amount of alcohol use and sexual relationship.

Randy reminds me of a friend, this person that is so annoying yet we can't help but love them. I also like that randy had a lot of good in him too. Interesting book and a lovely review.

Randy! As young people, we always believe that we are right and we know better. We have the tendency to keep holding on to our beliefs and do only things that do not stress us until we realize that life afterall, isn't a bed of roses. Good review!

Randy was a charming young man who knew how to make the most of his good looks. It was refreshing to see him grow and become a more mature person as the book progressed. Thanks for the lovely review.

As young adults, we are faced constantly with making decisions that affects our lives. For Randy it was the decision of leaving school and going into the labour Market. He was resilience and determined to make it. Thank you for the review
