Sometimes the quest to chase one's dreams can be a costly one. And, whichever direction one goes, home is the best. Jace went away to New York to pursue his dream. Meanwhile, he had to leave behind his family and the love of his life to do so. When things failed to work out, he packed up and returned home. However, adjusting was a big problem. His family felt betrayed, especially his big brother, with whom they were best friends. Dane could not understand why his brother had to leave and not keep in touch. Failing his father was not something he liked, yet he could not seem to do anything right.

Soon upon his return, Dane organizes a party that sets off a chain of events that forever alters the lives of everyone in the Grazer’s family. A Walk Through The Grapes by David Jackson is a journey where Robert is trying to groom his family to take over the family business of growing grapes and producing wine. It is an uphill task since the girls have declared that they can’t do it. The one person they are banking on, Jace, is hopeless. The question is, will Dane take over? Or Will Jace have to style up and take over the position?

The twists in the story will keep you riveted to the novel. Similarly, the suspense of finding out what the family is hiding from Jace is equally gripping. The tragedies that befall Robert's family and how things turn out, eventually, are what I liked the most in the book. The turn of events in this book will surprise you. It has a strong theme of family. David showed how family can be a pillar to be relied on and how family can go to great lengths to protect the ones they love. The novel has strong characters with who the reader can readily identify with.

A Walk Through The Grapes will leave you guessing. Sometimes what you think is the reality turns out to be a figment of someone’s imagination or even just a dream. I just loved how the book had a lot of surprises. I could find nothing that was a put-off. As a result, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. Although there were a few errors in the book, they were minor.

I can recommend this book to those who love mysteries. They can try solving the cases or give reasons for some things that happened. Similarly, those who love romance may also like it. The element of friendship and misunderstandings involved in relationships is brought out superbly. There is some mild erotic content and profanity in the book. They complimented it well and did not affect my enjoyment of it.

Yes. However, it was quite irritating how they never trusted him on this without really explaining why they thought he could not handle it.

A mystery involving fights between family members is not exactly a new concept. That won’t stop me from reading it, though. There is something about this type of book that keeps me returning again and again.
