Review of The Pro-Achievement Principle
The book is structured in 7 lessons, the firts lesson is an introduction of the Pro-Achievement Principle, in the second lesson the differences between responsability and responsabiliness will be clear, and it will also clarify that you have to know to win and to lose, in the third lesson it will be explained what is a proachiever and what differences it haves with the overachievers and the perfectionists, in the fourth lesson, three type of workers will be exposed, the negationist, the superficial optimist, and the proachiever, in the lesson 5 there will be some tips for employing a proachiever and what type of questions you can ask to find it, in the lesson 6 there will be some steps to follow to be a good leader, including reccomending your workers to read the book, and in the lesson 7 you will know how it is to put the Pro-Achievement Principle in practice.
In the one hand, this book not only makes you read, it makes you think. The Dr. Deb Bright talks to the reader with some inteligent tools, she uses real life examples to explain certain topics, something that helps a lot in terms of understanding parts of the book, also she uses tables to fulfil, that is an original idea to conect with the reader.Furthermore, the fact of thinking about what is in the book can change your life perception in a good way taking everything seriously. Also is a book that is well edited.
On the other hand, there are parts that are difficult to understand. Those parts of the book may have that difficulty because of the especific vocabulary it have, however, this can be improved with the explanation of that vocabulary or changing it for easier words. Moreover the book talks in some parts about very specific situations that may not be carried out in real life.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars for three main reasons, the first is that the book can change your perception of the world, putting more effort in things you care of being a proachiever and having a good attitude, the second one is that is a book that you can share with anyone you know because it will only improve them, and the last one is that it makes people treat each other better, and in the case of work treating each other well and forgetting the typical role of the boss who is superior to other, it is a book that makes leaders.
It is a book that can be read by everyone, but is aimed primarily at working adults and bosses, also it is a book I will probably share with my friends because of the philosophy it have.
