The Ironing

The ironing, by Navajo. Its quite different from most books. Its got its own little twist to it that most books and stories don’t have. Its got its shocking moments as well as its funny moments. Its quite the catch.

Located in the East of London. With different sceneries happening after one another, almost like a reality T.V show, with break ups, a little bit of sex talk, fights and disagreements. Of course many scenes may have the same people as previous scenes. One of the main groups being Emma, Ginni and Royanda. From what i've established from the book is that they are quite close, and in the end have a secret nobody will ever know except them. There are other groups as well and some of those whom have been in the same scenes as these girls. It seems these girls are on their own adventure during the book and for most of it are on the bus where they run into a few people. Another main group would be with peter. The man who doesn’t have a job and has disappointed his mother by breaking something important. Just as his friends though, they smoke weed and play video games… Caitlin being another group, she looks for love on a dating app and has a disgusting case for her to read, one that might make you throw up.. there are of course more groups than these, but they were the most interesting to me.

There are so many positive aspects about this book. For me I absolutely loved the relationship between the three girls (Ginnie, Emma, Royanda). I also love the format of the book, it made me wondering at the end of each scene what would happen next. It was quite enticing to read with every page having something interesting, shocking or funny in it. Each character with their own set personality yet some groups despite their differences got along, and that was extremely enjoyable as not many writers have that in their books.

I saw no negative aspects. I loved the entire book and I found no mistakes nor did it ever get boring. There was always something that caught my attention on every page.

The book has to be my new favorite. Every part made me wanting more and more, with twists and witty remarks on the way. The phrasing was good and there were no spelling mistakes. I rate The ironing a 4 out of 4. In my opinion this is award winning material.

If you are a fan of twists and you are looking for something realistic, you’d definitely want to read this book. However I believe you should only read it if you are 16 and above, due to swearing and mature scenes. I highly recommend this book to you, but only if you can handle the drama.
