Happiness is All We Want! is a book written by the Indian author Ashutosh Mishra that reminds you that it’s your time to sail with serenity in your journey of life. It focuses on the three main ingredients of our existence, which are the body, the mind, and the soul. The book has been written with capsules for our well-being. It inspires us to take proper care of ourselves while most of us forget to do so while running behind the good things of life.

Mishra provides real-life experiences for the readers to understand clearly what he means in each section of the book. He advises the readers to start practicing a positive lifestyle by doing yoga, meditation, exercise, and many more activities that he had mentioned in detail through this book. It states the reason behind the anger that forms inside us and gives measures to cleanse our minds from such distractions that refrain us from attaining higher levels of self-realization. It urges you to do small acts of kindness which make the world a better place to live.

Some readers may find it difficult to thoroughly understand the philosophy behind the well-being capsules that Mishra had put together. This is because we don’t know the fulfilling experiences that one could derive from those capsules and exercises. If we had gone through any of the exercises that he had explained with proper dedication we would understand the reality and depth of this book. This is a book that gives its full meaning when it’s brought to action. The terms from famous Hindu and Buddhist texts were used and their meanings explained. The birth-death cycle and the effect of karma were also greatly emphasized. But the readers who find this concept new may find it difficult to accept. Hence it might be objectionable to them.

Overall, I rate this book 3 out of 4. There were some typos that I could figure out throughout the book. Except for that, the book had done a successful job in helping us find the true happiness that we all desire just as the title suggests. This book certainly helps us grow, but as I mentioned earlier, the changes to be made are up to us.

I would recommend this book to a mature audience, that is, those who are ready to acknowledge the mistakes they made in their lives and are willing to take measures to bring their lives back on track. If you find yourself restless, please try reading this book. You will find ways to cultivate peace within you. Conviction and willpower are all you need to start reading this book, to face the reality and judge yourself.
