Ark of apocalypse by Tobin Marks review
If you are interested in the combination of politics, science fiction, and a touch of history this would be the perfect book for you. Ark of Apocalypse by Tobin Marks is a book that tells a story about a powerful family with great abilities, political interests, human arrogance but at the same time, it is showing to the reader a nice side of humanity.
This book's timeframe is moving from the history of the human race in different countries starting in the second world war to the postapocalyptic times when Earth is completely shattered and destroyed with radiation. Yanbeyev family is leading the reader thru the whole book and in an interesting way showing that everything has some higher purpose and that there is always hope. Even on the other planet when times were hard and in postapocalyptic Russia they never gave up. Every woman in that family had great abilities and responsibility towards family and the human race in different generations starting from the bottom in the war and thru hard work growing and making something great. In a sad way, the book is showing how political interest and greed can destroy something but also give us indirectly a warning that maybe we should take care more of mother Earth before it will be too late.
In some parts of the book I didn't like the use of some more complicated English words that are not so easy to understand if you are not such a book lover, and in some way that can become too exhausting to the readers making them want to quit reading.
This book is written with good grammar but it could use a bit more editing, what makes it interesting is the use of foreign words mostly Russian, but it should also be considered to give a reader word explanations in footnotes.
I would definitely recommend this book because it will keep you interested in reading and makes you start wondering what will happen in the future and about life outside our planet even if seems like just a good science fiction book. How much the human mind is capable of creating technology, understanding genealogy, physics and where is the limit to science. The answer is in this book, there is no limit to progress in science even when the price is high. Ark of apocalypse is the book that makes you start thinking about the world differently and start appreciating things more.
Even though I liked the book because of the grammar I am rating it 3 out of 4.
