Robert, a man in his fifties, has builded a very succesful career, as well as a beautiful and loving family. Him and his wife Loraine are the perfect couple, both very handsome, fit and still very much in love, they are the couple that everyone admires. Even though Bob is not at the age of retirement yet and it is not even a thought crossing his mind, it looks like his closest friends and acquaintances seem to believe that the time for his retirement has come, since he has really accomplished his professional as well as personal goals and has enough money to enjoy the rest of his life stressfree. Nevertheless, “Chasing the rabbit”, meaning working to achieve financial freedom for him and his family is everything he ever wanted and the only thing he felt comfortable doing, just like his father and grandfather used to do until the end, being the “wolves”. However, afrer being involved in a horrible car accident he will have to rething his life’s choices from a whole new perspective. Crucial role to this new horrizons that are opening up for Bob will be that of his loving wife, as well as his new nurse, Phyllis.

“Chasing the rabbit”, by Jerry A. Greenberg, from the very first chapter got me thinking about the true meaning of life and question the choices I have made during my life. The concerns that arise from this book regarding the course of life and the meaning of everything that we do or do not do are definitely issues that everyone questions and considers every once in a while.

Therefore I trully believe that many people could find very interesting the content of this book as it is for sure food for thought. In my personal opinion it is a book that many middle aged people could relate to, however it would be beneficial and interesting for younger audiences to read the book and reflect on the matters it is bringing up. It is appropriate even for teenagers who aspire to depict their future. I also found its editing to be exquisite and was very satisfied by that.

One somewhat negative point, but overall not of such a big importance, was the repetitive pattern of literally everyone who met Bob would ask about his thoughts on retirement, even though he is not even at the age that people usually retire. I found it a little tiring at around chapter seven since at that pont I had already received that message multiple times. However, after I got passed that point the book managed to easily recapture my interest.

Overall, a very well written book, easy to read and digest, even so, it did not blow my mind so i would rate it at 3 out of 4 stars.
