I was unsure if I would enjoy this book, Deceitful Survival, before I started to read it. After reading the first chapter, I sensed that this was going to be a fun and action-packed story. It was written in a beautiful manner by LC Lee.

The story is set in the year 1801. In the opening pages of this amazing novel, we are introduced to Beth (named Elizabeth by her mother). Together with her family (her father, mother, and two brothers), they lived in Brittany, where her father had inherited a farm from her grandfather.

Following the deaths of both of her parents, her two brothers encourage her to move to the village to live with her father's sister, Simone. Her aunt mistreated her while she was there. She made the decision to collect her belongings and leave the area. Grab your own copy and read the entire narrative to find out why Beth's life was deceitful after she packed up from her aunt's house.

It took me a while to figure out whether this was a biographical or historical fiction work. This is due to the fact that the narrative appears to be true. Several aspects of the book appealed to me. I liked how the author utilized simple language throughout the novel, which made it easier to follow. Additionally, the use of dialogues in the telling of this great novel kept my attention from the first to the last page.

This brief (258-page) book is easy to read in one sitting. It's also broken down into 39 sections. I laughed, cried, and felt sorry for some characters as I read it. For example, while reading the first chapter of the book, I was on the verge of crying. I sympathized with Beth, who had witnessed her mother's murder at the hands of her ruthless father. At her age at the time, this was a difficult thing for her to bear.

The story includes themes of love, family, death, religion, hatred, treachery, and friendship. The plot was well-developed, as were the characters. The story's flow was maintained by using dialogue. The cover of the book was designed by a professional. In addition, the protagonist of the story, Beth, was a character I liked. Her transformation from a young girl to a powerful woman wowed me. There was nothing in the book that I didn't like.

This book receives 4 out of 4 stars from me. It was both inspiring and enjoyable. Furthermore, I gave it a full rating because it had been thoroughly edited, and I didn't find any flaws in it. This is a book that I would recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction. It will be enjoyable for them.
