To everyone who enjoys wine! This book requires your full attention.

Exploring Wine Regions - Bordeaux France by Michael C. Higgins, PhD. is a travelogue that takes you on an expedition through Bordeaux vineyards and allows you to relive the French way of life through its glossy pages.

I had never tried wine before and did not know much about it, so my prime motive for picking this book was to learn more about it. Reading this book was both informative and entertaining, it not only enlightened me about wine but also about the city of Bordeaux and France as a whole. If I don't add that I was able to visualise everything, all the exquisite details that the author put in his journal, I will be lying. It seemed as if I were on a tour with the author, discovering new sights and, of course, fantastic vineyards.

One of the aspects of the book that I admire is that the author contributed his own experiences, which undoubtedly added to the book's richness and aesthetic value. This book is an excellent guide to Bordeaux and the surrounding areas of Medoc, Graves, and Libournais. I have come across a lot of travel guides, but I am impressed with the way the author organised this book. As a reader, you would not be concerned about minor things because the author has taken care of everything.

I cannot help but admire the wonderful photographs that the author has included on every page. Even though I have not visited any of the locations mentioned in the book, it feels as if I am taking a quick tour- from restaurants to bars to stunning wineries, the author has covered everything from the best perspective, I guarantee it. One thing I found particularly fascinating was that this book truly assisted me in distinguishing between French and foreign wines. It taught me about what makes them special, as well as a lot more.

So, in my perspective, the book was immaculate and perfectly edited. I did not notice any errors, and I believe the author's enthusiasm shone through throughout the book, as he did an excellent job putting it together.

With this, I rate this book as 4 out of 4 stars. I truly enjoyed how the author put this book together. This is an excellent travel guide to take with you on a vacation to Bordeaux, with stunning photos and amazing insights and destinations. The book is written in easy language, so the reader will have no trouble figuring out the specifics. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in learning more about wine. You may, however, skip it if you are not a lover of travel books or find them dull.

Wines. Well, as someone who's grown up in India, it's a taboo almost. But I'll love to give this book a try. Thanks for this excellent review Sia!

Your intro got me because it's exactly the same for me. I know nothing about wine and I'd love to. Thanks for the wonderful review.
