Review of Rise of the Savior
Rise of the Saviour: Acolyte of Truth by Antoine Bonner is an action-packed novel. The book tells the story of the world in the spiritual realm. Time changes, seasons change, but the world does not change. Saira, the smart six-year-old girl, was the first to realise her powers. In a home where no one understood what she felt, she was considered weird by her parents and her sister, Amanda.
This does not change until Amanda knows her destiny during a pre-destined accident that involves her and her dad. However, her deity saves her. This accident becomes the turning point of her life and her family's. It leads to a discovery of herself as the acolyte of truth. After the accident, she is taken to the hospital where the enemy she was born to fight (Jamie) works. Meanwhile, there has been a prophecy that the acolyte of truth will only stop Jamie if she dies with him. But her loved ones wouldn't allow this. How was she able to stop him? Find out by reading this book.
We as humans don't know many things that are beyond our natural thoughts and imagination. This story is a clear example. Amanda and her parents were victimising Saira because they couldn't understand her ability. Little did Amanda knows that there were even more responsibilities on her shoulders that she hadn't found out.
Although I enjoyed the book, I wouldn't say I liked how the story ended. I would want to assume that the writer plans to write part two of the story. Also, there are so many characters to be acquainted with. The fact that the names have similar pronunciations even made it more challenging to follow some names.
I could easily picture what was written, and I enjoyed this. Amanda and her sister, Saira, are two characters I loved in the book. The bond and strength they later share are outstanding compared with their former relationship. The straightforward attitude of Saira blended with and balanced out the chaotic attitude of Amanda. Saira's attitude made her lead adults, and I found it inspiring. I love the unity message the book portrays too. The book is a good read.
The editors did an exceptional job on the book because I could not find any errors. Although the storyline is different from what other Faiths believe, it doesn't criticise anyone's religion. The book also doesn't contain any pornographic scene of any kind or level. But, it does contain violence and gory scenes. And also, there is the usage of profane words.
My dislikes about the book do not take out the fact that the book is exceptional. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and recommend the book to lovers of fantasy and sci-fi.
