"Is freedom anything more than the ability to conduct our lives as we see fit?" "There's nothing else."This is the question that the Algerians, who are ruled by French colonists, are pondering.

A Dream for Peace is a memoir authored by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah in which he describes Algeria's transition from a colony to a sovereign state. Algeria was once under the sovereignty of the French government, and the French colonists led their life, culture, custom, and history. Algerians became so alienated from their homeland that their history was not taught in schools. Dr. Ghoulem was a victim of racism and colonialism, and as a result, he advocated for an end to French colonialism in his country. Dr. Ghoulem received a scholarship to study medicine in Paris after graduating from high school in Algeria. This is where he began his quest for independence. He made acquaintances with a variety of people from various nominations. Along the road, he lost his mother, but it didn't stop him from fighting for their independence. Continue reading to learn more about the events that transpired prior to Algeria's independence.

To begin, A Dream for Peace is a fantastic book. It's fascinating to learn about Algeria's struggle for independence from someone who was a part of the fight. The book teaches about politics, religion, one's faith, brethren relationships, and consistency. I adore Dr. Ghoulem and his comrades here; they never let the hardships they faced stop them from fighting for freedom, especially when they all decided to go on strike away from school while their final examinations were approaching, simply because several of their comrades had been killed. I admire their authenticity in their relationships; they were always willing to lend a hand to one another. Dr. Ghoulem's mother is also a remarkable and fascinating woman; it's a shame she died before they achieved their freedom. She'd always been there for him, checking up on him and encouraging him since he was a toddler.

Dr. Ghoulem's unwavering faith was another aspect of this novel that I admired. Even while he was in prison and terrible situations, he continued to look to God for guidance. He is a person who admires others.

There isn't a single element about this book that I detest. It was fantastic from the beginning to the end.

Then there is the editing; it was flawlessly edited and beautifully written, and while there was an error, it did not detract from the overall quality of the book. As a result, I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading historical fiction as well as anyone interested in learning more about Algeria's independence, especially as it was written by someone who was personally involved in the success.

This was an accurate account of the book. I'm not sure I'll be able to read it but I really like how you highlighted the important aspects we can look out for. Almost every country desires independence and their stories are always fulfilling and hopeful.
