[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
This narrative follows four collage buddies as they transist from collage life to their respective careers. It also shows their transist from single life to being heads of families. Few years into their career they organise a vacation to get a break from their daily routine. Man Mission by Eytan Uliel follows this four men for fifteen years and bring us their adventures. From hiking in New Zealand, to biking in Japan and to Kayaking in Vietnam, the challenges they face as men and how they get through these challenges.
The first two annual vacations were attended by two of the friends, the other two joined in subsequent years. The book follows the life of the narrator most of the time. His career and its challenges and also his love life and marriage. The betrayal he faces and how Man Mission becomes a refuge from his crumbling life.
This book is full of lessons for both men and women. Men will learn life lessons and women will see life in a man's eye. I really loved reading this book. It took me to different exotic places in the world. As I was reading the book I interacted with cultures practiced in different parts of the world. It was lile I was on a geographical tour just sitting on my couch. The way the narrator described each place they visited and the event that took place made me feel like I am was part of their adventures. The book was written using simple language that could be understood easily. The quotes provided in the book were thought-provoking. The maps for each destination made me geographically aware.
I did not encounter much to dislike except for the font. I would like it more if it was a little bit larger to ease readability. Apart from this I enjoyed reading the book.
This book is professionally edited as I did not encounter any editorial error. The book has a good flow making it easy to transit from one chapter to the next. The language used was easy to read and to understand. The length of the book was superb as it was not a long read. The way the narration was written and the illustrations of how events unfolded made it an interesting read. I am going to give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to men and women who love adventure. This book will give you ideas of your next destination. It will also give you a scope of what to expect in different destination.
