In a middle of a frightening storm three blows are heard on the front door followed by other three urgent ones. Tom signals William to open the door only to see Tom's ex-wife Ruth with a thirteen year old girl who she claims to be their daughter's child, Becky who is said to have died five years ago. Tom and William long time buddies were planning for camping with Myra, William's daughter since she knows a thing or two about camping. Ruth leaves Sarah at the door claiming it is now Tom's turn to take care of her. With no doubt Sarah is Becky's daughter due to her behavioral and physical traits. Tom is now confused and thinks of only three options. To take Sarah to her father who is at an emergency job call in Europe or call family services and put her under children's care or thirdly, take her with her to camping after all she is her granddaughter and get to learn more about her.

Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon is a non fiction series book that tells a family drama story of Tom and his grand daughter Sarah who is left under his care out without any notice. Will the two get to like each other and learn more about each other? Will Sarah adapt the new lifestyle of her grandfather? Will Tom eventually keep her?

I got this book both audio and the Kindle version since I was interested in the family drama story and how the events would unfold. Curious to know how Sarah would behave during the camping trip. Her reaction to the new environment. I really loved the storyline. I liked how Tom's historic events unfolded. Him having a mature character of taking Sarah with him and telling her of his past which some how helps in enabling Sarah to survive in the valley. The author Charlie Sheldon brings out his character very well.

Having no negative aspects, I would highly recommend this book to everyone, both adults and children since the book is realistic and highly explains and relates to our day to day - real life situations. It is also a motivation to teenagers who are convinced to have hardships in the family and adaptation of new environments.

However, the story may be a little bit disturbing to the audience who do not embrace early history of war and survival and to some extent I got myself disturbed since some events from the book were conjuring my long gone scars of life survival.

Nevertheless, despite the aforementioned issue I found the book perfectly edited and thus rating the book "Strong Heart" 4 out of 4 stars.
Enjoy!
