With the onset of darkness, every night without fail, a miraculous and magical awakening happens in the house of Sugarcandy, the White Harlequin. When the grandfather clock strikes, the Harlequin and the other little magical creatures, such as, magicians, jesters, dwarves, and clowns, come out of hiding. One eventful night, Sugarcandy finds out that the wind maidens will be weaving their magic in the diamond prairie near their home in a rare occurrence. In the middle of the magical display attended by Sugarcandy and his friend, Spot, an unnatural cyclone disrupts the affair to destroy the forces of deep magic by overpowering the light from the stars. In an attempt to save the stars, Harlequin and Spot, search for the night Sybil, who lends them a ship and tasks them with the mission to defeat Mabia and restore the ring of the night Sybil. Will they succeed in this treacherous quest?

The White Harlequin by Daphne Tzamali-Yakinthou is a well-written adventurous story that spins a fascinating tale about courage, magic, and perseverance. In a quest to save the stars from Mabia, the dead spirit, two friends get themselves entangled in a treacherous journey through the sea of darkness and encounter phantom ghosts, malevolent dragons, flying violins, benevolent mermaids, and other dreadful creatures.

Full of fantastic pictures with amazing visual appeal, the book is brimming with adventure at the turn of every page. Furthermore, the author has taken great care to include very catchy songs to break up the monotony of narration. The author effortlessly employs literary devices such as metaphors to craft elements of her story to spark the imagination. The author puts into use a unique way of storytelling that imposes clear mental imagery on the reader in addition to the colorful art expressions.

I enjoyed this book so much that I did not find any negative aspects. It was a fantasy so interesting that I spent most of my spare time reading it. It is exceptionally edited and has no errors. I, therefore, give this book a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars because of the quality of the story and writing. The author effortlessly spins an epic tale that leaves you craving for more.

I recommend this book to children and teenagers with a taste for a fast-paced fantasy novel full of adventure. The book is an excellent bedtime story to read to children.

This fantasy novel would be a great read for my young nephews. Nevertheless, I would love to find out if Harlequin and Spot were able to restore the ring of the night Sybil.
Great review you've got there.

Wow! This sounds like an amazing book with mythical creatures and flying violins. When my children were little, I loved to read bedtime stories. Likewise, finding a book worthy of that would earn 4 stars. Great Review!
