Logistics. A Christmas Story is a science fiction novel written by Chris Coppel. The story opens with Tony and his wife Sofia discovering a child among the Christmas presents with no idea how she got there. A few years forward and the child is now the main character of the story. She is Holly Hillman, the CEO of Marshall Whiteman, one of the top logistics companies in the world. Holly has a reputation for being diligent, and ambitious and is at the top of her career. Holly has a reputation for being diligent and ambitious and is at the top of her career. Holly was on the verge of a historic moment with the acquisition of their biggest rival, the Ling Chow group, which would give them the biggest share of the world's commodity logistics. She pushes on despite backlash from the media over Ling Chow's unethical work practices and moral concerns from her friend and former lover, Will Meyers. All that remains is to seal the deal with a harmless DNA test of all the executives; however, it reveals a startling secret about Holly that changes her life forever.

Holly discovers that she is related to only 0.01% of the world's population. This unique discovery not only helps expose her unique parentage but also reveals a hidden world filled with wonder and joy. Holly learns in this discovery where her heart truly lies.

The novel starts with mystery and intrigue, but at its core, it is a story of self-discovery. Holly is introduced to us as little more than a machine. Success is her sole mission, and every other endeavor is sacrificed in pursuit of that goal. However, as her background is revealed, her mindset begins to change. Her outlook on life takes a turn for the better. It is telling that when she opens her eyes, she sees that things are not as they seem. She begins to feel empathy for those treated unfairly in Long Chow's slavish work environment. She begins to see just how much she has sacrificed in her quest for success and comes to question whether it was worth it.

I liked the themes portrayed in the novel. It delved into societal issues like ambition, corporate greed, peer pressure, and unsafe work environments. Yet it blends these with an imaginative and colorful sci-fi world. It takes established concepts in the holiday Christmas and gives it a colorful spin. It adds to the wonder and good cheer of the holiday season.

The book was well edited and I found no errors. I have no negative issues with the novel; therefore, i give the book 4 out of 4 stars for the engaging plot, the heartwarming tone, and the relevant theme. I recommend it to science fiction lovers and anyone looking for a holiday-themed novel.
