Have you been on a never-ending search for the most film-like book? When you read, it's as if you're reading the subtitles to a movie, except the movie is your imagination, directed by the detailed book you're reading; guess what? Your search is now complete. Darksoul by L. Brooks is the perfect book for you.

The book is 332 pages long and divided into 87 chapters. The story begins with a gang: Graveyard (the leader); Assassin; Fatal; Deathblow; and Reaper, who was hired by Tyranny, a man obsessed with owning the city's biggest enterprises. He paid them to do his dirty work. They attempt to negotiate with the company's owner, but if that proves problematic, they murder him. The cycle continues when a new owner is appointed to the company until they can acquire it. Unfortunately for the protagonist, Orion Stormgod, and his best friend and partner, Sam Pillman, they operate a luxurious club that Tyranny is interested in.

On their way to the club one rainy day, they were ambushed by the gang. Graveyard tried bargaining with Orion and Sam, but, like the majority of their victims, his offer is declined. One of the gang members then abducts and beats up Sam. When Orion saw this, he couldn't control his rage and charged. He was able to kill one of the members, but he was shot from behind while doing so. However, he did not die immediately. Sam, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Graveyard, the gang's leader, showered Sam with just enough bullets to ensure his death.

Jeremiah, an archaeologist, finds Orion on the floor, waiting for death to relieve his suffering from the bullet, and offers him a second chance at life. Jerimiah is entrusted with finding a vessel for Darksoul to amass an incredible amount of fortune. Orion, who would do everything for vengeance, and Jeremiah, who seeks fortune, struck a deal that resulted in Orion becoming Darksoul's vessel.

In Egypt, across the border, some archaeologists accidentally release Soulschaser, a being that would do anything to possess the essence of Darksoul so that he may control the world. Will Orion obtain his much-desired vengeance, or will he have to confront Soulchaser?

The way the book was written was fantastic. Every event was described, whether it was the sound of a gun or a punch in a fight. The book was quite thorough; you don't have to think too hard to figure out what's going on in it. I also liked how each character was named; it made them look like the names they were given. Take the character Graveyard: You can tell just by the name that he sends people to the grave. The book was not difficult for me to comprehend. In no way was the plot rushed; all the events were able to connect. There was not a single typo in the book, and it was flawlessly edited.

Although the book contained a lot of profanity and erotic scenes, I enjoyed it. However, from a personal standpoint, the grammatical structures used in the text were overly large. I had to look up words in the dictionary most of the time I was reading the book, which slowed the pace of the book.

I rate the book three out of four stars. It could just be that I dislike the book's huge language, but when terminology becomes excessive, the content becomes dull.

Aside from the vocabulary, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book and would recommend it to adults who enjoy fantasy novels. I do not recommend this book to youngsters due to the excessive amount of profanity and erotic scenes in the book.

I like books that can stimulate my imagination, it's very impressive that the author dedicated so much effort to developing the scenes in this book. The storyline seems very interesting, therefore I'll be adding this to my reading list.

Your descriptive review of Darksoul indicates that the book is engaging. I thought I could predict the outcome of their mission after reading the second paragraph of your review, but I was wrong. The fact that I was unable to predict the book makes me admire it.
