[Following is a volunteer review of "Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat" by R.F. Kristi.]
Serendipity Mystery is a children's book written by R.F. Kristi, edited by Tim Aucoin, and illustrated by Jorge Valle.
This book explored a gripping story of the interrelationship between humans and animals. Alongside their human mother, the furry animals named Inca, Fromage, and Charlotte decided to spend the holiday on a warm beach located in Sri Lanka. In this place, they had lots of fun and also made friends with fellow animals.
Inca and other members of the detective team were faced with the task of solving a mystery. A few days after they had settled in Sri Lanka, they discovered that some valuable materials had been stolen by unknown people. Subsequently, they found out that the materials were stolen from the local museum close to where they lodged. Upon getting this information, the detective spirit kicked in, and the team embarked on a mission to recover the materials. Will this pursuit turn out to be successful?
I love how the author revealed what the key characters represented. As a result, I was able to familiarize myself with them. The language employed by the writer was simple and easy to follow. I also believe that the illustrations I came across in this book were relevant. This is because they conveyed the right information.
Even though this did not affect my overall appreciation of the book, I felt like certain aspects of the book were overemphasized. An example of such was the part where Inca lost her way in the forest. Sincerely, the details were not necessary. On the other hand, I was unable to pinpoint any errors. Hence, I can state that this book was exceptionally well-edited.
Due to my positive opinions about Serendipity Mystery, I will give it a rating of four out of four stars.
Although the author wrote this book for children aged 7 to 11, it can also be of interest to readers that love stories about animals and the significance of teamwork in today's world. As such, I recommend Serendipity Mystery by R.F. Kristi to them.
