Seeing With Fresh Eyes, by John W. Bullock is a nonfiction book that gives a total breakdown of God's relationship with man. It gives a deeper insight on the love God has for his creations and mercy. The book helps us to have a better perception of God, the reasons for His rules and why we need to obey Him. This title expounds on love, sin, obedience and the consequences of disobedience. The redemption of man and the new relationship with God. We are given wonderful promises and hopes for a new and better life through Jesus.

It is important to understand the concept of laws, rules and regulations in any society. The repercussions of disobedience to laws is tantamount to anarchy. This book helps to grasp the need to follow instructions and obey stipulated laws. Laws were not made to punish us or to strip off our freedom to do things the way we like, laws were made to guide us. Most times, we think something is right for us, but in reality it will be to our detriment. Whenever we fail to follow the laws of God, we should always apologise and ask for the forgiveness of our disobedience. This piece allows reflection of our life, attitudes and evaluation of one's life.

The nature of man is selfish, each thinking about his own self. We must learn to control our self-will when making decisions. Rather we ask deep questions that require hours of scriptural searching before we can get answers to them. There are different stories of people who through prayers were able to come out of their deepest sorrows. Although life lessons can be drawn from the different stories told in this piece, some of it can be weird. Constant murmurings from the Israelites, through the wilderness and the punishments they received were rather bizarre.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because I found it easy interpreting and understanding the language, the choice of words and the book was well edited. There were numerous scriptural backings that helped the message of the author to be passed across smoothly.

I will recommend this book to people who find it difficult to understand the concept of salvation, and are having a battle in their faith and belief of God's love towards them. It is suitable for people who want to amend their relationship back with God.
