There are many Christians who are still perplexed about God's goodness and salvation, and I am no exception. Although we are taught about the origin of sin and how God created the universe, there are other doctrines that are still unclear to us, particularly about our salvation. This confusion resulted in misunderstanding and, on occasion, backsliding.
John W. Bullock wrote the book Seeing with Fresh Eyes. Fully conscious that something is wrong with his relationship with God, he chose to conduct an in-depth study of our separation from God, God's works for our salvation, and his everlasting love with fresh eyes, unfettered of prior knowledge and judgment.
Seeing with Fresh Eyes by John W. Bullock outlines the fall of man, salvation and the love of God. He started with the relationship of man with God in the garden of Eden and the commission of the first sin which eventually led to the fall of man. In the middle of the book, the author thoroughly discussed the intervention of God to save his people from their sins. John W. Bullock ends the book with our journey as disciples following our savior with fresh eyes.
This is an excellent study tool for Christians looking for the truth about salvation. It is also highly beneficial for preachers to help the congregation comprehend more about God's greatness. Anyone reading this book, however, should discard prior knowledge and approach it with an open mind. Additional questions are included towards the end of the book for discussion, particularly among preachers and members.
I give this book four stars out of four. It helped me realize more about redemption, that Jesus did not die for us, but that we die alongside him. There is nothing I dislike about the book, and it is completely supported and explained directly from the Bible.
I strongly advise preachers and ministers to read this book in order to better convey sin, forgiveness, and God's eternal kindness and love.
