We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an enthralling fantasy and mystery sci-fi book written by Matthew Tysz.

It is a book that narrates the events and occurrences as witnessed by the major characters. Set in the fictional country of Voulhire, it opens with the recanting of a feud ongoing in one of the lands, the Land of Princes. Under the guise of making his four sons independent, the Emperor of the country (described as the Emperor of Lullabies) sent each one of them out and gave them the islands scattered around the kingdom. He was secretly wary of the princes as he believed they might be plotting to usurp his throne. This was a great undoing for him, as the princes were always at war with themselves.

The book opens with the experience of Galen Bray, one of the major characters. He used to live in the dangerous Land of the Princes. His uncle used to live in a town called Magnum Caelum, but now the uncle is dead, and Galen is set to inherit his uncle's property. It was a great forge that would turn the fortunes of Galen, who, as a young man, was faced with several tribulations in the Land of the Princes. But things won't be as easy as they seem to be. Who is Lord Eldus? What is his connection with the forge? Who is sending codes in the form of unusual stones? Will Rowan prove himself to be dependable? These are some of the questions that will keep you on edge as you course through this exciting book because you can't wait to unveil several mysteries.

What I like most about this book is surely the unexpected and unpredictable plot twists. The book takes so many turns and encloses several mysteries. It is the first book in the series, and this book will make you look forward to reading the rest as soon as you can. The author makes this book short with only 150 pages (you can read it in one sitting) to avoid losing the excitement.

The author's writing style is commendable. He intelligently made a point with his well-developed characters. He also gave a vivid description of events and fights so that the reader would have a clear picture of the scene in his mind. I love how the author goes back and forth between the chapters and the characters so that the reader has a balanced understanding of the turn of things.

One thing I don't like about the book is that it has profanities and disturbing adult content. It's highly sensitive and younger individuals shouldn't read it.

I would give We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies a rating of 4 out of 4 stars as it is articulately written and exceptionally edited. There were no grammatical errors at all either. I will surely recommend it to mystery, fantasy, and sci-fi lovers.
