[Following is a volunteer review of "Seeking... Finding... Healing..." by Becky Lu Jackson.]
Seeking...Finding...Healing... is a book written by Becky Lu Jackson. It consists of four main parts, 23 chapters, and 170 pages.
It is an inspirational book based on reconciling with one's past trauma and healing oneself to connect with your future self. The first part of the book introduces readers to the guide and tools for inner family healing. The second part involves taking action after learning the theories. This aspect moves you from being a seeker into being a finder. The third part of this book marks the beginning of meditation and communication with your inner family. Finally, the fourth part describes exercises that can guide you to achieving a bonded inner family relationship.
Jackson made this book very educational as the guide to using the inner family healing tool is a new concept to me, whereby I can access and connect with my younger self as a form of healing my history. In the first few chapters, the author wrote about the seven major benefits of foundation building, which include commitment, competence, setting boundaries, perception, dignity, understanding, and communication with her inner family, which aided her self-care and development. She also mentioned that visualization is a type of open meditation in which any of your younger selves can communicate with you to gain clarity on their problems and address them.
What I find most relatable about reading this book is how Jackson used her personal experience of drug and alcohol addiction and food addiction to provide readers with a step-by-step guide on how to achieve physical, spiritual, and emotional healing through meditation and also provides scripts for visualization to aid her readers in the journey of self-healing. I noticed how practical this book is as I came across how journaling and writing out your feelings, thoughts, and past experiences can help you gain insight into your mental and physical health. It also helps you to emulate your ideal self by attempting to live by laid down principles and will prevent you from forgetting your insights, understanding, and important moments.
I find this book a bit too spiritual as there are a lot of God-like affirmations, spiritual sayings, miracles, prayers, and faith in God.
I will give this book a perfect rating of four out of four stars. I found a few errors while reading, and this shows the book was professionally edited. Finally, I would recommend this book to readers who are willing to reconcile with their past and embrace a new level of freedom and healing.
