[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
Kelly and Tom Turbulo are on their honeymoon in Honduras. Kelly went to a gift shop and saw no one behind the counter. She rang the bell and called out, but no one came. She decided to go to the door that states only for employees, she ignored the sign and proceeded to enter through the door. Walking through the passage, Kelly stumbled on a metal door and entered the room and she saw no one, but what she saw was something that she never thought to encounter on her honeymoon or in fact in a gift shop.
After contacting Kelly’s brother, his assistant sent out two women to see if anything happened to Tom and Kelly but found that they are both fine. So, the four of them decided to go back to the gift shop and see if they can find out more on what Kelly saw but before they could look further, they had a small encounter with a CIA agent, Agent Steve Spalding. One thing the five of them does not know is that they would stop a terrorist attack together, an attack that could send the North Americans and Canada back to the stone age.
EMP Honeymoon written by Dorothy May Mercer, is not just about a mission and getting the bad guy, there is a bit of romance in it as well. In this book, every character that being mentioned has a small overview of who they are and what occupation they have. What makes this book fun for me was when the agent was flirting with this lady and the honeymoon couple checking every time when they go look for more leads, to see whether one of them are hurt.
The author is speaking in the third person throughout the book. The book is fast tracking, so you don’t get to know more on the events happening at that time.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, even though there are minor issues of the book, its still a good book to read when you are going away for a weekend or just to escape from a hectic day. I would recommend this book for teenagers and adults but for those who enjoy reading about secret missions and romance.
