Man Mission is a story that chronicles the adventure of four friends; who decide to undertake a series of challenging trips to exotic locations around the world. It began simply for enjoyment and masculine thrill, but as time went on, it began to transform into something more. An escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life, family, and job concerns to a place of relaxation and deep reflection. And what was this annual journey for men called? It was called Man Mission.

The plot begins when two friends Sam and the narrator (who we shall keep nameless for story purposes), decide to embark on an epic manly adventure with exotic locations and challenging activities. They dubbed it Man Mission. Over time, they are joined by their mutual friends Alec and Daniel as Man Mission becomes an annual event. Their journey across different places around the world is chronicled, along with the humorous, unexpected events that often take place. As they get older, the challenges of life get thrown at them. They face family responsibilities, economic crises, and relationship issues. Man Mission became more than a masculine flex. It started to serve as an escape. A time to reflect on oneself and what it truly means to be a man. To explore their masculinity while enjoying the wonders of nature.

The author Eytan Uliel did a splendid job setting the tone of the novel. The humor was funny and well-written. Yet the humor did not weigh down the serious and thought-provoking moments in their journeys. Both sides are balanced, each having its own time. The characters have depth and are unique. Masculine stereotypes are torn down to show a real human view of men. Their mistakes, sacrifices, and efforts are shown without bias toward the female gender.

I rate this novel a 4 out of 4 stars because of the theme, plot, and narration of the story. I could not find any aspect of the novel I disliked. The themes were relevant and appropriate to the story. The narration was excellent, and their adventures were exciting and humorous. I did not find any grammatical errors while reading, and the editing was excellent. The novel was narrated from a first-person view. This allows the reader to experience the life of the narrator. To see his mistakes on a personal level. And experience his journey side by side.

There are certain themes portrayed and words used that are only suitable for a mature audience. However, I recommend this book to lovers of adventure and travel guides.
