[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
Eytan Uliel’s Man Mission is a remarkable book that talks about four men who are friends who are originally from Australia. In this book, they travel to different countries and they get to meet different people as well as different cultures that are practised at each country and they have to adjust to those cultures in order to not violate any rules that are at that country.
In this book, the narrator starts by telling us how they planned for the Man Mission. We also find out that the name Man Mission was actually formed by them in order to have a collective name for their trips. The reason for their Man Mission is that they were initially separated from university and that is where they parted ways. When they met again, they decided to enjoy themselves. During these different trips, they get to catch up and talk about their lives. They also encounter various challenges in their trips as well as in their home but they do not stop travelling. The narrator also discloses that they had these trips for fifteen years and they always made sure that they follow the rules that they set for themselves.
What I really loved about this book was that the author made sure that he thoroughly explained every aspect of this book and even though it might appear as if the book is really long, it is thoroughly explained and that is what I really admired and expected since this book is classified as an autobiography. The author was able to make you imagine and feel like you are actually at that place that he was talking about. The author managed to make me travel with him around the world just by using words and that is what I also admired. I also admired that the author made sure that as the reader reads the book, he or she gains more knowledge as well as facts about different countries. I also liked how the author organized his book. He divided his book into three segments and wrote about five trips in each segment.
There is nothing that I disliked about this book. At the end of the book the reader has a lesson that he or she learns and I learned about the importance of friendship. This book also had various maps of the places that the narrator visited and to be honest, that helped me to see where exactly these various places that they visited are situated since I am not familiar with many places. I also liked that the author was able to write a short summary after each chapter. That helped me to get the information that I did not pay attention to while reading the book. This book was exceptionally edited, as I did not encounter any errors.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to people who like travelling as well as those who dream about travelling someday because they will get to chose which places they want to go to and also learn more about what those places have and what people who live there live their lives.
