Review of The Date Farm

[Following is a volunteer review of "The Date Farm" by Jack Winnick.]
The Date Farm by Jack Winnick is the fourth book in the Lara and Uri series. Lara, a former agent of the FBI, and her husband, Uri, a Mossad agent, are called in from their honeymoon when a group of terrorists attack a mall. This book is a political thriller that can be read without having to read the previous books in the series.
The first attack was on a popular shopping mall, killing a lot of people. Those who were responsible for this act killed themselves, too. It was a shock to everyone because the perpetrators targeted no religion or race in particular. Lara and Uri were called on to help solve the mystery behind the crime. Unknown to the US government, the leader who orchestrated this evil act, Sheik Zainal Abidin, had other plans. He went on to tamper with the communication systems of the US government, aiding him in taking over the Federal Reserve Bank and the Chase Manhattan Bank. They were all surprised when they learned that this evil leader was after the United States' rhenium. What is the significance of this rhenium? How will Lara and Uri escape, even after being held hostages, to come up with an idea on how to save the US?
I must commend the author for making this book get more interesting as it progressed. The way he took his time to explain in detail whatever transpired between the characters made this book difficult to put down. I was so nervous when Lara and Uri were both kidnapped. I thought to myself, "this was it," but how the author brought in another twist was jaw-dropping. I don't want to castigate the playing of video games, but what the author said about it is true. When you keep playing violent games, you tend not to regard people as you should.
There was nothing to dislike about this book. One thing that propelled me into taking this series is how flawless the editing has been, despite all the books being loquacious. If you are looking for a book that will make your heart skip a beat, this is it for you. If you are looking for a book that will teach you more about the Middle East region, this is the book for you. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars for the amazing storyline and lessons it contains. All I can say is that the author, Jack, is nothing short of a gem. He keeps on showing his expertise in the way he constantly engages his audience.
I would recommend this book to people who love political crime thrillers. The editing was exceptional; there weren't any errors.
