[Following is a volunteer review of "The Devil Pulls the Strings" by J. W. Zarek.]
The Devil Pulls The Strings by J. W. Zarek is a fantasy-historical book about Boone Daniels from Missouri that holds a promise to his friend, Flynn Michaels. That has been an accident that made Flynn in the worst state and nearly dead. Because Boone feels responsible for Flynn's accident, he promised to do his gigs on Saturday in New York City. Without Boone's knowings, the gigs turn out to long-deadly journey that brought him to meet other world creatures and another puzzle to solve.
I love how the author tells the story that a nerve-wracking but fun style. The story is written in detail and can evoke the atmosphere following the plot of the story. Step by step your emotions will build up through every chapter you have followed. At the end of the story is also provided a glossary, in case the readers need a dictionary of characters and place.
The ending is out of expectation, I am still curious about Boone Daniels and Sapphire Anjou Relationship. The editing of The Devil Pulls The Strings is mostly good, repeating words are the only uncomfortable things i have found. But another that, i feel enjoyed reading this book. There is no sexual content but yes profane content.
I enjoyed The Devil Pulls The Strings and rate it 4 out of 4 stars. This book does a good job to bring the excitement that made your blood pump erratically. But it still leaves another puzzle about other characters' circumstances. For those people who like fantasy-historical fiction and fun-heroic main character, it's a strong recommendation book to read. It is a light reading story with a fun-hectic environment. I love this book so much.
