The world is a busy place. People are constantly on the run, trying to complete their day to day tasks. Because of this, they end up feeling lost, having no clue what to do when it’s time to retire. They find themselves unsure of their future with no solid plans to back them up. E. Alan Fleischauer's Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life At Any Stage And Planning Ahead is an excellent read for those who would like to prepare for retirement early and those who find themselves feeling unsure of their future.

Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life At Any Stage And Planning Ahead is a book designed to help individuals understand the steps one must take to be prepared for retirement. It primarily focuses on two topics: methods of investment and different types of insurance to look out for. It also presents a variety of questions to help readers consider their strengths so that they can figure out the life decisions that will leave them feeling the happiest.

This book was incredibly intriguing to me. I appreciated how informative it was and I loved how easy it was to read. When reading this book, I got introduced to many terms I hadn't heard of, such as ETFs and 401K. Besides being able to expand my vocabulary, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of topics that I have heard of but never bothered to research. The chapters explaining the terms of qualification for medicare and IRAs stood out to me in particular.

Additionally, I loved the touches of personality the author added throughout the book. I sometimes struggle to finish self-help books because I feel like the author is piling endless information onto me. However, I didn’t feel anything like that here. Although the book was informative, the author was able to keep this book entertaining by sprinkling a variety of jokes throughout the chapters. I often found myself laughing at Fleischauer’s sense of humor and it helped me remain engaged. I also liked how the author used a personal anecdote to explain the importance of disability insurance.

There is nothing negative to say about this book. Everything was easy to understand and there were no grammatical errors. Beyond being informative, the book was entertaining as well. Given all the reasons I stated above, I believe this book deserves a 4 out of 4.

Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life At Any Stage And Planning Ahead is a book that everyone should read at some point in their lives. As Fleischauer points out, there is no time that is too early or late when it comes to preparing for the future. It doesn’t matter how old someone is; retirement is something that all people have to face and it is always beneficial to be well-informed of how to stay prepared.

We do have to make out time to plan ahead financially to avoid frustration when the strength to work is no longer there.

Great review.

I'm young and I have been debating whether to read this book or not to read it. From your review, I guess I'll try it out.

I completely agree. My favorite thing about this book was how well the author engaged the reader without patronizing them, as in many other self-help books I have read.

I meant to say that most self-help books i have read are often patronizing (and repetitive).
