[Following is a volunteer review of "Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat" by R.F. Kristi.]
Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat, written by R.F. Kristi, is a children's fantasy book about a detective cat that aims at saving the national reserve. Inca, a Siberian Kitty, the leader of a detective agency named Inca and Company. The other members are Fromage, Cara, Monk, Charlotte, Terrance, and Polo. They go for a holiday on Sri Lanka's beautiful island. Inca found that an ancient sword was stolen from the Colombo National Museum. Inca tries to use her investigation skills together with her team of detectives to solve this mystery. New members join the agency: turtle, an elephant, and the elephant's baby. They became friends while still staying on a beautiful beach in Galle City. Can cat detective and her team of animal detectives save the National Reserve? Read this book and find out.
I liked several aspects of this book that made the book enjoyable. The author applied visual elements in this book in a great way. Visual elements in this story engaged the reader finding the book very enjoyable. Also, the characters were likable and engaging to the reader. The characters teach children the importance of teamwork and empathy towards others.
I did not find anything to dislike in this book; everything was great. The author used simple language since the book targets children so that they can understand. Also, the author ensured the characters engaged the reader, especially the children, at a young age.
I rate Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi four out of four stars. The book was explicitly edited; hence, I found no errors. It had several positive aspects and no negative aspects while the author ensured that it taught several lessons to children. With all these, deducting a star would be unfair; hence, the rating.
I recommend this book to children aged seven to ten who are animal lovers. It best suits children of that age since the book's information stirs young minds. The children should be animal lovers since the characters involved in the story are animal lovers.
