[Following is a volunteer review of "Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula" by R.F. Kristi.]
R.F. Kristi's Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the eighth book in the Inca Cat Detective series. Missy and her neighbor, Solo, travel to South Korea after receiving an invitation to judge a French patisserie competition. The French patisserie competition is being held in South Korea by Le Cordon Bleu, the world's top cooking school. Moreover, Missy's unique cheese will be introduced to the world at a special event hosted by Le Cordon Bleu. Join Inca, Terrence, and their friends as they accompany and protect their masters at this important event.
While in South Korea, Missy stays at the home of Ye-Jun and his dog, Baram. Ye-Jun is Missy’s tour guide. Unfortunately, he has been separated from his sister, who lives in North Korea. Inca and her team decide to reunite the siblings, but they will face challenges. Do they accomplish their task? Read this book to find out.
The author does an excellent job with this book. Despite being part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. At the beginning of the book, the author provides background information on a few characters. The book also includes some interesting illustrations that will help children develop their imaginative abilities. This book is extremely informative, making it ideal for children. Anyone who reads this book will gain a better understanding of cats. R.F. Kristi's detailed descriptions show her extensive knowledge of animals and locations. She also defines some foreign words used in the book.
This book also teaches some important morals to children. It emphasizes friendship, trust, and teamwork. I enjoyed the way the cats referred to humans as “humanoids”. It was funny in a way. This book was exceptionally edited. I did not find any errors.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. There is no negative aspect to this book. It is a short and informative book that is suitable for children.
I recommend this book to parents looking for a bedtime story for their children. Because it contains no profanity or sexual content, it is appropriate for them. People looking for a quick, exciting read are also welcome to read this book.
