[Following is a volunteer review of "Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book about planning for the future. This book will take you through all the financial things you should and should not do to set yourself up for success. E. Alan Fleischauer thoroughly goes through every element you could think of for your future, social security, healthcare, investments, and much more. It explains how certain investments could be better for you based on your age or goals. It also explains different types of insurance you may want over the years. If you do not know how to save money for the older version of you, definitely give this book a go.
I absolutely loved Reconfigurement. E. Alan Fleischauer wrote the book in a conversational style which is extremely helpful for me because I do not know anything about the complicated financial stuff, even when the financial advisors try to explain. He really explained in detail all of the information I needed to know. Not only is he talking about retirement, but there is a whole chapter on finding a career for yourself as well. This chapter was my favorite because he recommends many personality tests, and I spent hours completing his recommendations. This is a well-thought-out and well-written book.
Honestly, the only negative part of Reconfigurement that I can think of is that E. Alan Fleischauer puts little jokes throughout the book, and a couple of them I did not understand. This could just be me, but he also gives a wide variety of jokes, perhaps so everyone can have a laugh. I thought this book was excellent and very helpful. I cannot think of any other negative points to give this book.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was fantastic. I believe the book was well edited and proofread. I will be rereading this book in the future just to do a little extra research. Each section taught me something new, and it taught me without boring me to death. I thought that it had a perfect balance of information and conversation.
I recommend this book to people looking for information about their fiscal future. Like I said previously, he doesn't just tell you how to plan for retirement, but he also helps with career choices, IRA's, and social security, so I believe this book can be for any age group from the teenage years and on. Anyone who wants to learn about financial things without taking a class or sitting through a boring lecture would also enjoy this book. It is quick and to the point and also written in a conversation, so it is straightforward to read.
