[Following is a volunteer review of "Man Mission" by Eytan Uliel.]
Man Mission by Eytan Uliel tells the story of four men who have grown from friends to brothers. Man Mission was birth as a means for these four men to take annual breaks from their regular, demanding, and busy lives to go on crazy, adrenaline-filled “manly adventures.” Every year for fifteen years, they plan and organize Man Mission trips in different countries, filled with what they consider “manly activities” such as hiking, biking, kayaking, ice climbing, and more.
Through the years, these men face the reality of adulthood, embark on the journey of marriage, face the pressure of providing financial security for themselves and their families, try to balance their work and family lives without losing themselves in the process, and deal with marital challenges. Man Mission is a tale of four men trying to navigate life and its challenges while taking yearly trips to unwind and escape the pressures of life.
I enjoyed reading Man Mission. The author did a great job describing each Man Mission adventure in detail, to the point where it felt like I took those trips with them. The author also included a generous, balanced amount of comedy and tragedy. It made the characters and the events in the book very realistic. I enjoyed how realistic the book is. At some point, it felt like I was reading a detailed narration of someone’s real-life experiences. In general, the book was well-written.
I downloaded Man Mission on my android as an EPUB file. While reading, I noticed that the words on about half of the pages of this book appeared in smaller font sizes than the words on the remaining pages. I had to zoom in to read these affected pages, thus making the words blurry and hard to read. I found it slightly inconvenient, making the book less enjoyable than it would have been. Other than this, I did not dislike anything about this book.
This book was exceptionally well-edited. I found no grammatical errors in it.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Although I had to strain my eyes while reading almost fifty percent of the book, the book was well-written, had a good plot, and kept me entertained till the end. That is why I did not deduct a star from my rating. This book deserves a four-star rating, and I believe the author can fix the error.
I recommend this book to young men, both single and married. I also recommend this book to all lovers of good literature.
