[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
How would you feel if your honeymoon had been interrupted by something terrifying? If you were out enjoying the sights and stumbled upon a secret that would have a disastrous outcome? This is exactly what happened to Kelly Turbulo while on her honeymoon with Tom in EMP Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer.
While enjoying a day checking out the sights in Honduras, Kelly finds a cute souvenir shop and goes inside. Finding the shop empty, Kelly goes in search of someone to assist her, however, what she stumbles upon, is not what she is expecting. Kelly is caught in the off-limits area of the shop and some big men chase her around the streets, fearing for her life she calls her brother, U.S. Senator Mike McBride. Worried for Kelly and having no idea what is going on, Mike does everything he can to help get to the bottom of whatever is going on. Kelly and Tom start investigating on their own but unknown to them, an undercover CIA agent is working on the case. Will they figure out what Kelly saw in that secret room, or will this gripping tale have a disastrous ending?
I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. When I first started reading it, I thought it would be a book I would struggle to finish. This was not the case; I liked the different points of views Mercer used to tell this story. The suspense and adventure in this book gripped my attention and it did not disappoint. The technical aspects of the book are another thing I enjoyed.
There is only one thing I did not like about this book: the ending. I found the ending to be far too abrupt and it felt like there was much more to the story. I only found three errors in this book: however, they were not significant enough to be an issue.
I give EMP Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom four out of four stars because even though the ending was not as pleasant as I would have hoped, I found this book remarkably interesting and professionally edited.
I would recommend EMP Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom to anyone who wants to read a book that is vastly different from other books. I would recommend this to someone who wants to read something that they normally would not read. This book is suitable for teenagers and adults alike.
