Bluewater Walkabout is a travel adventure book by Tina Dreffin. It chronicles Tina and her family’s travel journey around Africa and across the Atlantic Ocean. Their journey is full of exciting and terrifying experiences that will leave readers shocked and entertained. They lose a bag of gold, face the threat of wild animals on a safari, and much more. The book highlights important issues such as sexual assault, miscarriage, and cancer.

Kudos to the author for writing Bluewater Walkabout. I enjoyed reviewing this book. It is captivating and wonderfully written. It was easy for me to visualize things because of how Tina described everything. I appreciate that Tina chose to share her more private experiences with readers. It allowed me to relate and connect with her. I also like that the reference section towards the end of the book shares crucial information about sexual assault, miscarriage, and cancer.

I love that Bluewater Walkabout gives readers a glimpse at what life at sea is like and the various challenges encountered in sailing. I was able to learn a lot about sailing from reading this book. Honestly, I have a new appreciation for sailors from reading this book. Sailing is not as glamorous as the movies and television shows depict it. It can be difficult and dangerous. I was shocked when I read about the severity of the accidents Tina mentioned in the book.

I also noticed the contrast between Tina and her family's trip and that of Nick and his son. Both experienced challenges in their respective journeys, but Nick's experience was worse. It was awful that he encountered so much misfortune on what was supposed to be a fun experience for him and his son. It taught me that proper planning and having the right set of skills are vital on such journeys.

In summary, I will be giving Bluewater Walkabout a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. If I could give a higher rating than that, I would. I do not have any negative remarks or critiques to give. I enjoyed reviewing this book. I was able to learn a lot about sailing and sea life. The story also motivated me to travel more. Bluewater Walkabout is meticulously edited. I did not stumble on any errors while reading. I look forward to reading other books by Tina Dreffin to read about her other adventures.

I recommend Bluewater Walkabout to people who love reading about travel adventures. It is the perfect book for people seeking inspiration for their next travel. The good thing is the readers who enjoy this book can continue reading about Tina and her family’s travel adventures in her other books. I think people who like history will enjoy reading Bluewater Walkabout. The book contains historical background information about the places Tina and her family visited. This book isn't suitable for younger readers because the story tackles a lot of mature content like sexual assault.

Thank you for your comment. Her adventure in South Africa with her family was entertaining. I didn't know that people touring Kruger National Park can drive around the park without a guide. She mentioned that in the story and I was amazed. Did they change that practice or is it still the same?
