[Following is a volunteer review of "The Dream Primer" by Jeff Meyer.]
The Dream Primer by Jeff Meyer is an excellent guide for dreamers to achieve their ultimate goals. Most of the time, it is the dreamer who is the barrier to the achievement of a dream. What strategies can be used to be active toward meeting a goal instead of remaining stagnant and unhappy? Jeff Meyer beautifully lays them out in The Dream Primer. After reading this book, I have a better understanding of my dreams and what is required to accomplish them.
Jeff Meyer points out that most people do not have a true understanding of what their dreams are. He describes the process of getting to the root causes for a dream and encourages readers to identify why they have a specific dream. The next hurdle to overcome is fear of the dream. The author provides instructions on how to identify a fear and turn it into a positive opportunity to take steps forward toward meeting a goal. He provides opportunities for the reader to reflect internally throughout the book with real-life examples and guides that are easy to understand and use.
I began reading this book just at the right time in my life. I have been struggling with unhappiness in my career that has affected my home life. The Dream Primer helped me understand that I am the biggest barrier to my happiness, and only I have the power to make a change. As I was reading this book, it became clear to me that becoming happy in my career does not have to be a scary thing. Instead, I have been able to view it as an opportunity to move forward in my career and find happiness. The examples provided were relevant to the topics discussed in the book, and really drove home the points being made by the author.
This book was easy to read and flowed nicely. The topics that Jeff Meyer discussed were easy to grasp and understand, and the book held my attention all the way through. I will be taking some of these tips outlined in the book and using them as I work toward achieving my own personal dreams. This book really inspired me and gave me multiple opportunities to internally reflect on my dreams.
Without a doubt, my rating for this book is 4 out of 4 stars. I could not find any errors in this book, indicating that it was professionally written and edited. I would be excited to read any other book written by this author. I would recommend this book to anyone with dreams, especially those that feel out of reach or difficult to achieve.
