[Following is a volunteer review of "JTs World" by E. Alan Fleischauer.]
JT’s World by E. Alan Fleischauer is the 5th book of a western series. JT Thomas is opening an amusement park called JT’s World. It has games, carousels, a Ferris wheel, a theater, a saloon, a hotel, shops, and even a doctor’s office. The grand opening does not go as planned. There was one killed at the bowling alley, and more later into the night. JT is worked up. After his opening, he goes with Buck and his ranch hands to round up cattle. He left his ward Madeline in charge of completing the theater build. Throughout his travels, he shot and killed many while saving others. He was a very generous man. He would send his ranch hands ahead while he stayed back to help others. Only to catch up to them later with his magnificent horses Pete and Re-Pete. Until he met Chip Heller a bounty hunter. Chip was following identical twin criminals into a saloon, which turned into a shooting, where JT got shot in the shoulder. The criminals he was hunting got away. They meet up with them in White Rock. One of the identical twins was shot and laying in the doctor’s office. This is where JT meets Jessica. He is smitten by her and falls in love instantly. He has to stay in town for a while until a judge comes for the trial against the twins. After the trial, JT heads back to the Ponderosa, his ranch, to check in. He also needs to see how JT’s World, his amusement park, is coming along.
I enjoyed the storyline following JT Thomas. It was captivating. It followed him protecting others and helping them financially. I could not believe how much gunslinging was in the story, but for it being a western it suited the book. It showed how it could have been back in the 1800s. When it didn’t matter who you killed, but if you robbed banks and stole money then you got a bounty on your head. The development of the characters was excellent. I did not need to read the previous 4 books to understand who they were.
There was nothing in this book that I did not like. Everything was very fitting and took me on an adventure from JT’s previous lover Annabelle, to his new love Jessica.
I would recommend this book for a mature audience who enjoys western, gunslinging, and romance. This would also be for anyone who enjoys following a great adventure during the 1800s.
I would give this book a 4 out of 4. I thoroughly enjoyed reading JT’s World . It had killing, adventure and romance included throughout. JT Thomas captivated me from the beginning and made me want to sit and keep reading the book without putting it down. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.
