Review of Unchecked capitalism is killing us!
[Following is a volunteer review of "Unchecked capitalism is killing us!" by Earl Rynerson.]
Unchecked Capitalism is Killing Us by Earl B. Rynerson is a book on how capitalism is destroying small scale businesses as well as negatively affecting the welfare of the US citizens. In what could be a show of grievances, the author said a lot about how the top companies shortchange their workers despite how hard they work for the attainment of the goals set by these companies. The author also explains with a lot of proofs and details, how much these companies influence the political atmosphere of the country through indirect funding. A lot of politicians are being sponsored and in return, they indirectly manipulate the bills and legislation in favor of these big companies, corporations and businessmen. Thus, a lot of corporations end up paying less in taxes while the tax burden shifts on the citizens (employees) who are being cheated and underpaid by these same corporations. Apart from taxes, citizens also bear the brunts in the form of ridiculously high prices for goods and services produced by these companies. The author also detailedly explains other ways in which capitalism is dwindling the affairs of the country, the general effects while he also suggested solutions to these problems.
Unchecked Capitalism is Killing Us is an educative book. While the book can be said to have had an opinionated undertone, I really commend the author for bringing out proof and facts to back up his claims. For instance, he was able to back up his claims of politicians being corrupt with some quotes from the past which can be found between pages 9 and 14. I also like how the author didn't focus on just a particular sector. He discussed his findings under different sectors like the Agribusiness, the Pharma, the Banking sector as well as the Autos and others. Errors are rare which is a testament to the fact that the book was exceptionally edited and proofread.
Unchecked Capitalism is Killing Us is an interesting and educative book. I find no fault with the book.
I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book was well written and properly edited. The facts in the book were also well backed up with proven points.
I would recommend Unchecked Capitalism is Killing Us to any and all kind of people especially those who are interested in reading about how an extreme capitalism can destroy an economy. People who are into politics and political office holders can also find the book helpful.
